The Agape Love Token is a work of art set in a bezel of 18k yellow gold. The cameo shows a lotus surrounded by hearts flowing self-less compassionate love to and from you, the world, and your spiritual source. The mantra "Love is all" is ajured on the back to remind us of this simple and powerful guiding principle. The Agape Love Token hangs from a handmade 18k yellow gold 18" baby rectangle chain.

Hand Carved Blue Agate Cameo and 18k Yellow Gold. This piece was created using reclaimed, recycled, and fair-trade precious gems and metals in our NYC atelier.

Collection:

AnaKatarina's Love Tokens are inspired by both erotic Roman spintriae tokens and the eight types of love extolled by the ancient Greeks. Her belief is that to love and to be loved is our greatest superpower. Memories and reminders of these connections are engraved by hand into talismanic cameos. Each Love Token is ajured with a mantra written by AnaKatarina.

Designers Note: 

The Greeks believed Agape is the highest and most radical form of love - selfless, fearless, and unconditional universal love. AnaKatarina was raised in a multi-religious home and is a student of Buddhism. She believes humans all take different paths to come to the Agape fountain. The Agape Love Token was the most difficult for her to conceptualize. She chose the Lotus for its symbolic meaning- compassion. The surrounding hearts point towards and away from the Lotus to represent the to-and-from flow of selfless love, compassion, and empathy.

She collaborates with respected artisans- including a former Harry Winston master jeweler- to sculpt her pieces. For the wearer, these striking, sensual accessories transcend the category of fine jewelry; they become stunning personal signatures, future heirlooms and treasured talismans worn at every occasion. 

Motivated by the tragedies she has witnessed and the legacy she is leaving behind for her 3 daughters, Ana-Katarina is committed to sourcing reclaimed, recycled, fair-trade, and precious materials. A member of Ethical Metalsmiths and AGTA (American Gem Trade Association), she passionately supports ethical and sustainable practices in the making of her collections so that each piece is not only treasure, but a powerful statement for social consciousness.
